US Mutual Funds Receiving Investor Money Again

US Mutual Funds Receiving Investor Money Again

While equity funds saw continued outflows, US mutual funds received more money again from investors in June. This was in stark contrast to the month of May when investors pulled their money away at the onset of a flash crash. Morning Star, the investment research company, had reported these findings last week.

However, investors have been putting alot of fresh capital into bond funds for over a year, and that continued last month in June.

Outflows poured from US stock funds in June, which outpaces the outflows from 2009. Similarly, Morning Star had reported that money-market funds also seen outflows because investors sought improved returns after such funds were offering near-zero income.

In spite of this, a record-breaking amount of investor money was put into alternative mutual funds, which include bear-market exchange-traded funds and long-short mutual funds.
